What is that like for the DCXL? I'm pretty much a beginner to dormancy.

You HAVE to give it (and all VFTs and sarracenia) 3-4 months of 35-40F. temps.

I
drain off excess water from the pots, hit them with a sulphur based
fungicide and place in zip lock bags and pop them in the fridge for
3-4 months. Late winter around March I take them out and place in a
south and west window until night time temps. Regularly stay above
freezing then slowly acclimate them to full outdoor Sun.

After that dormancy it basically pops back out without anything wrong with it?

Yup. You may have to take off a few bad traps and hit them again with some fungicide but they start slowly waking up!

I have an epiphitic cactus that I could put in the terrarium, give that a shot.

My Nepenthes Linda is back up and running after that terrarium almost scarred it, it has many new leaves but for some odd reason not a single pitcher has formed. I don't really think much of it right now because I am assuming it is in pitcher producing dormancy I have always had that one question though, will my Nepenthes have slow growth with ouch the pitchers? Or does the photosynthesis take care of that?

In the spring LIGHTLY mist it's leaves with 1/4 strength orchid food every 2 weeks. This helps induce pitchering. They don't pitcher much during winter.

Photosynthesis will help with food and energy, but making pitchers also has other conditions needed.

For your terrarium, maybe you can try air plants / tillandsias.

You could also try a miniature variety of African Violet for the terrarium. Just my 2¢. ;)

Mix up 1/4 strength orchid fertilizer and put some in a spray bottle. LIGHTLY spray the leaves every 2 weeks. This will induce pitchering. Bright indirect Sun (bright shade).
