Are the baskets part of the table or did you just put them there? If they can be removed find another place for them. I'd like to see more of your really cool rug underneath.

I typically like to contain my books in something when accessorizing a coffee table as large as this. RH makes a really large metal tray that could be cool on your rustic table, I'd add a stack of your books topped with one of your accessories and then another larger accessory next to it or even a candle. You could always add a potted plant/orchid in a colorful/textural pot. See the photos below for specifics.
