My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Fire Place Codes

It seems you have no formal way of venting / exhausting your fire pit out from under the enclosed structure. We are currently working on a project where the hood design has gotten extremely controversial and expensive. How were you able to have a pit under this roof with no hood? and is that a wood burning or gas fire pit?

    Hi All,
    I saw these comments and thought I would give my 2 cents.
    This does not seem to be an Enclosed Structure as Steverherron pointed out. I would say its an open structure, since it has no walls...
    The fireplace appears to be gas. In that case there are Ventless firepit options, which burn clean.
    If you are worried about fumes being trapped within the roof, a ceiling fan is always a good option. It can keep the air circulating, and basically act as a vent.

      Same question as the previous one. How is the roof vented for the firepit? How high off the fire would you recommend to not heat up or burn any of the wood roof?

      This fire pit is gas and there are no concerns because, as Gasmaster suggested, there are no walls. Its also an open cathedral ceiling so there are no dangers or building code issues here.
