Fire Pit Codes

We are working on a project where we are told we need a hood to exhaust an outdoor fire pit that has a roof structure about 10' above. Is this a gas pit in your photo? and what were the guidelines required to appropriately vent this system? also, how is it structured? If you don't have this info, please inform me of who might i.e. Architect, Installer, etc.
