What Embroidry Things are You Working On?

I have been working on hand embroidered kitchen towels to give to the women in our family for Christmas. I usually take my work with me when I go with my girls as I wait a lot of the time in the car. The seat is comfortable and the lighting is good. Is anyone else working on something?

I am doing dish towels too! I decided on designs commemorating this wild ride of 2020. I haven't done much hand embroidery for awhile, so the stitches are basic, but having fun!

My daughter and her wife just had twins! The theme of the nursery is National Parks (weird, right?)

I did Yogi the bear and BooBoo in a canoe, and I'm almost done with a National Park Service emblem that is in the shape of an arrowhead.

I wish I had this site on my phone so I could post photos!

    NancyJane,

Twins huh? Congrats X 2. How wonderful for your family.

What did you put Yogi ad BooBoo on? Did you make towels, wall hanging or?? It sounds so cute to me.

Hi all! I'm new here and thought I'd jump in with my new project. I've got a vintage kitchen towel iron on pattern of Snookie the Snail days of the week. It's adorable and I can hardly wait to get started. I've been having trouble finding the towels, of all things. I think I'm looking for a unicorn-- thick towels that can still be hand embroidered.

Descriptions and reviews are so subjective. So I'm pouring over what feels like hundreds of websites to track down the towels I need. It stopped being fun the second day! Now I'm just grumpy I can't see the towels in person and thought it was time to take a break and experience some embroidery success stories. So far, I think I'm getting a second wind of determination.

If you hear faintly uttered cuss words, that's just me, being jealous at all your beautiful projects...

cititransplant and amy....those are hand done? Whew! I'm an amature!

The twins were born a little more than 3 weeks early. Abbigale Adeline 6lb5oz and Holden James 6lb9oz!. Soooooo cute!

    Probably our only Grandkids!

    Happy and healthy! =)

    Nancyjane,

Wow the twin came early and weighted that much. Good job for the mom.

No mine are not hand embroidered, it is by my Brother Dream Machine. I don't think I could hand embroider my name anymore. There is only one embroidery site, so hand and machine are mixed together. Would love to photos of your finished project.

HU, you must have had your music up loud not to have heard my cussing. Everything has a learning curve and I believe cursing comes with the instructions.

I don't know how you could hand embroider on a thick terry cloth towel, it seems that the pattern would get lost in the nap. Even with using the embroidery machine the area to be embroidery uses a "knock down stich" so the area is flat and easily visible. Vintage towels were typically embroidered on linen or everyday cotton toweling which is easy to find. Let us see your finished project too.
