Hi! Welcome!! Is it growing a bulb or a flower stalk? Some of the hybrids will surprise you with an autumn bloom. Do you know what hybrid it is or the name?

If it were mine, I'd bring it out and put it in a warm sunny window and enjoy the bloom! Some people grow their amaryllis as evergreens and this one seems to be one that would benefit this year!

Thanks! And sorry, my title wasn't too clear. It's growing a new flower, no leaves yet. It's a red lion type. I'll take it out of hiding and see how it goes. :)

I've had them go dormant for very short times like that. It may have had a flower stalk growing inside it already when you trimmed it back. Frankly, good job. Is this your first amaryllis?

Since they form the flower buds a year in advance, it likely would have bloomed whether or not you cut it back. If you're in the US, enjoy the Thanksgiving blooms.

I'm in Canada, so it'll be a pre-Christmas bloom. Thanks for the comments - I'll definitely post some pictures when it blooms. :)
