I posted about this salvia years ago, but I couldn't find the photos that I took of the flowers, which are dark magenta, if memory serves. I got some cuttings of it [same children's park as my other 2 posts today]. I will link the other thread, and add photos of the foliage. Normally it blooms in winter, but the horticulturalist said this year it was later in spring because she had cut it back hard. It is at least 10 feet tall. I don't think it's S. littae or iodantha. The flowers are not fuzzy, and the flourescences are not congested. The flower spikes are at least a foot long, with smaller ones at the sides. I collected a lot of seed, which are light tan, a bit unusual? I recall that from years ago when I collected seed. The leaves are large, at least 5 inches long X 2 inches wide. It's very woody at the base.

Thanks for any insight! Michelle
