I keep my mac in a basket, not sure how else I could contain its sprawling growth.

I would be inclined to pot and trellis all of them. I have seen gorgeous photos of trellised macrophylla, and i would definitely like a big one in my living room of the solid green, want to do a basket for my variegated cuttings if they decide to start growing roots and stop dropping leaves. I suppose it depends on your own preferences and space. I think erythrostemma gets big and would like support, have read a few stories of that one coming crashing down in baskets, but of your supports are strong enough probably not a huge issue.

That macrophylla picture of Denise's is basically the reason I want one of my own so badly. Just amazing.

Ah, my big ol' mac... a little closer, you can see my GH through the window...It's on a wooden trellis I got years ago and nailed to the north window in my sunroom for a Monstera plant to grow on. It seems perfect for mac! I have one I put in my bedroom after a summer in the GH - notice how much smaller the leaves are!

And one that I grow in the GH which was the result of a vine with the largest leaves snapping when I was trying to clean leaves. OMG, I was SO upset and
SO nervous that this vine wouldn't root. But it did, and though the new growth is not near as big (since it's getting signficantly more light), its happy where it sits...

I do love the trellised look best for this one! I also grow the variegated one and it isn't trellised as it doesn't seem to be so much of an upward grower.
