looks like damage from too much light...cells break down on the leaves and the fungus could have settled in.Doesn't look bad at all...not life threatening to the plant.If you have some fungicide,use it...it wont harm the leaves.also, Don't mist the plants in bright light or sun,because the water drops intensify the light and causes the leaves to burn.

When should one mist their plants? I'm hesitant to do it at night, because I was always told to never water at night. Grow light comes on at 5am, so...do I need to get up at 4am and mist? BURNING QUESTIONS! ;)

Thanks so much! I assumed it had to be a fungus so I sprayed the leaves as well as treating systemically. I also cut those stems off the mother plant and am rooting them. I thought I was doing a good thing with more lights but maybe I need to cut back. Thanks again :-)

I have never had issues misting my plants in full sun or under fluorescent lights. Maybe because my mist is super fine? My 3 year old obovata does have little black spots on it's leaves (I think it's natural for this type of hoya...I know it's natural for other types) but is healthy otherwise, and always has been.

First of all, Monica, your plant isn't obovata. Obovata does not have
pointed tips. They are, for the most part, perfectly round...

I would say it's more likely motoskei, but someone might have a better suggestion. And it looks fine to me - I just see a dark area on one leaf. Maybe the photo isn't showing what you're worried about. When there is a homely leaf, I usually just remove it and watch to make sure there isn't a trend, which may then signal a problem.
