Free Rose Bushes

I have more roses than I can properly care for and need to find a good home for these plants. They are all well established plants and are free, if you are within driving distance of Columbia, SC. You will need a small pick up truck and I would like to move them in January, when they are dormant.

Double Perfection, Moonstone, Gemini, Yves Piaget, Intrepid, Gruss an Aachen, Francis Dubreuil, Outta The Blue, Santa Fe, Betty Boop and Dina Gee. Santa Fe, Betty Boop and Dina Gee are on fortuniana and are quite large. The rest are own root. You can have any or all. If interested email me at rgabdalla@netzero.net.

My goodness, I wish I am in SC now....... A lot of pretty roses there. Hope someone from your area rose club can take them in.

Rayrose, How many roses do you have? I have 500+, close to 600 now, I take care them all by myself with no issues. :-)

I'm fairly close to you but still about 1 1/2 hours away. What a generous offer to make! You are going to make someone so happy! :)

I was wishing I lived near you yesterday. A lovely offer. I cut back as well a few years back not getting any younger here.

Summer you sound like myself. I also had an extensive collection of roses. Going no spray and out breaks of rrd made cutting back on the amount easy. Had to force myself not to buy. Buttt If money and age were not an issue. I'd still be having fun with all new disease resistant roses to purchase. Not so much an addiction as my home and garden is where I'm comfortable. E- mail me and I can answer your Summer Sun question. Shall we say a new aspect of freedom of speech has been compromised. I've been warned.

Rayrose I am sorry I got off the main subject. Best of luck with your future plans.

I've had as many as 200 different varieties, and just turned 69 and can't give them the care they need. I'm down to about 85 plants and need to get down to around 50. If I only grew roses, I'd keep them, but I also have a 75 tree orchard, and just can't do both.

I totally understand. Oh my to have room for an orchard would be glorious.

Rayrose, 69 is the new 49! Happy birthday and be wild! :-) I can understand taking care a lot of plants. I only have 5 orchards which one of my friends gave to me 3 years ago. I have never seen a tree orchard, it must be beautiful. Hope you can find a good home for those roses.

Patty, I am a rose nut indeed. :-) I will try not to order too many this year. This spring I ordered a lot to replace some of the backyard perennial gardens with roses so my backyard neighbors could enjoy more roses, but they're selling their house now, not sure if they'd be here next spring to see the blooms. Well, I guess I could visit them in their senior appt and bring them the roses next spring. I wish they can stay for a few more years......
