Our house was built in 1999 and has "harvest wheat" hardwood flooring and trim throughout. Our fireplace mantel is the same color and has a black tile surround (see photo). The black tile doesn't match anything else in our house. We'd like to update the color of the mantel and surround but we're not sure if painting the mantel would look strange since it wouldn't match the wood trim in the rest of the room. Our walls our very light gray with one nautical navy accent wall. Any thoughts, ideas and color suggestions would be appreciated!
