Yes. I think that one was 4.4 W of Guthrie. I was in the truck enroute when it hit, so I didn't feel it. when I got back I found my messenger was exploded over the issue.

We're good. Only a matter of time ... somewhere. *sigh*

I didn't really feel it here in Broken Arrow, but I heard the lamp shade rattle, and nobody was there.

Yeah. Felt that one. Kitchen cabinet door swung and banged me on the noggin. Scared the beejeebus outta me. I hate those with a large quick boom.

When I looked at Today's Earthquakes Enid has had 13 in 2 days. I went to college there. OK has had 2158 quakes this year. 55 in the last week. Astonishing.

We are the new California. Earthquakes? Got 'em. Wildfires? Got 'em. Droughts? Got 'em. As far as I know (and if I am wrong, I don't want to know), we still don't have California's Santa Ana winds or mudslides.

Sorry Dawn, I think the Santa Ana's are due tomorrow.

I just read that Enid is the earthquake capital of the United States.

The quake took out Suddenlink. Well, Suddenlink went down for many of us shortly after the quake this morning. We are equating the two without authoritative confirmation. Suddenlink admits an overall outage but on the hush and hush. They're usually candid.

I'm determined. Gd is moving and I'm hauling my @ss to turn whatever doorknobs are available in the hopes for the best outcomes with variables outside my control. Studies are suggesting a 7 pointer is due, but that's theory by some students. Ya'll already know what the experts suggest. We'll be okay, I bet. I'm hoping for miracles.

Stockergal, I think that's true for much of OK today and I wondered if anyone would say it. You did! (grin) I'm in the part of OK that currently doesn't have a Wind Advisory or Red Flag Fire Warning for today. and we're still expected to have wind gusts as high as 36 mph. So, if we're in the mild wind area, I'm grateful for that because most counties north and west of us will have much worse winds today.

Today could be pretty awful in terms of wind, dust and fire and I'm hoping we manage to avoid having any sort of wildfires or the kinds of dust storms that make driving hazardous. I'm always shocked when this sort of weather arrives in November and really elevates fire danger before Thanksgiving, and guess I'll never get used to it. I'm old-fashioned and think the winter fire season shouldn't arrive until it actually is winter time here, but that's not our reality.

Bon, It would be truly horrible to have that sort of magnitude of an earthquake here where we all know that the buildings are not built to withstand big quakes (and likely not medium-sized ones either). It would be such a calamity. I hope and pray it never happens. Of course, it doesn't have to be a 7 to do a lot of damage. I think anything in the 6s would be pretty awful too given our building codes. I'm always mindful that the New Madrid earthquake was so strong it made the Mississippi River run backwards. That is hard to comprehend, isn't it? We are so close to the New Madrid faultline that I think it is possible we someday could have a stronger earthquake here than most people imagine ever really would or could happen here. These are different times for us now and it seems like we have to get used to the idea of the unexpected someday occurring.

In truth, the quakes we experience are zilch in their duration. If they lasted any time longer ... yuk. but yeah.. gotta accept, adjust and adapt.

Every time I feel a small quake I pray we are the epicenter lest I'm feeling or on the edge of a big quake. Just felt one about 30 minutes ago. Reports are stating anywhere from 4.7mag to 5.7mag. I was going to go to bed but now I'm more worried about folks

occurred at 142 am this morning. The quake was felt all across Oklahoma,
western north Texas, and Kansas.

And there's been several smaller ones since then. I bet a lot more people would have felt that 4.7, Bon, if they'd been awake.

I was working at my desk upstairs. You can really feel them if you aren't on the ground floor. This one vibrated for a very long time, longer than most. OKC.

I felt it too. I was in bed, and not sure, if I was awake, or woke up because of it.

I didn't feel it, but my nervous dog came in my room about that time. I am sure she noticed it.

This one was felt in a lot of places (but not down here by me). I looked at the USGS "did you feel it page" this morning and there were reports not just from OK and KS (and lots of them) but also from MO, IA, LA, AR and TX.

I hope Bon and her family are okay.

Taking benadryl at night to sleep is becoming routine for me. I woke late. Bill said he felt it. I did not. Haven't noticed anything different. Our doors don't work properly, but that was from the last one. lol thanks friends. <3

I was upstairs reading late after we finally got our power back on and definitely felt it here in OKC. Not as long as the last one but it had a more impressive and majestic initial shake. I didn't hear a boom so as far as Okie Quakes go, it was just average....just an average quake folks, nothing to worry over... Average ice storm, Average quake. "Ford's in its flivver and all's right with the world".

I don't feel them here in SW OKC. Ice storms,earthquakes and floods we must be in Oklahoma!!!!!

My typical defensive remark to the uppity people I know who moved "up in the world" by going to California and loved to tell me how ugly it is here compared to there has been seriously comprimized cuz I could always get just as smug as them and say "Oh yow? Well at least WE don't have earth quakes HERE".

Now I can't do that, we get more than them.
