Beautiful roses, clematis and dahlias! Love them all!

Beautiful roses..a real treat for November! Love the dahlia,too. I want to grow Cafe OLea (sp) dahlia. Can you tell me how tall it is in your garden?

Where do you prichase your purchase your roses? Please forgive my lack of knowledge, are these "old roses"?

2bbugsy I purchase from all the places everyone else does. Most are online from places like Roses Unlimited, Chamblees, Palatine, Northland, David Austin and a few others. I also buy from Home Depot, Lowes, and several local nurseries. I shop everywhere. Mine aren't "old roses" and trust me I'm not very knowledgable in most things roses either which is why I hang out on GW bc there's lots of folks here who are and are happy to help us out. If it's gorgeous I want it. Really, it's a sickness for me!

Judy, they are lovely! I can see now what the different zones mean for us gardeners/rose nuts. You still have Clematis and Dahlias! I have already cut back my Clematis and chucked all my Dahlia bulbs! Seeing your Dahlias (and April's) convinced me it is time to get new ones!

Thanks Sharlene! I have only one or two clematis but any bloom out there is precious these days. I would prob have had more roses but the baby deer I believe creeped in under my fence several times and it rained so much I couldn't get out and spray my Liquid Fence. Luckily it's deer season and hoping the hunters take a few with them. I'm going to add a couple heirloom chrysanthemums with my dahlias and see how they compare.

Judy, lovely blooms. Which clematis is that? Also how high does your fence need to be to keep out the deer (as long as they don't creep under it)?

Hey Nancy.

I have no idea what clematis that is. I've had it a long time and I'm sure it's one I purchased from Home Depot or Lowes. I read the fence needs to be about 8 ft but mines an electric fence and worked great for a while but the babies are getting under it I think so my son in law ran some more wires low and it seems to have worked!

Is your fence 6'?

Mostly 6 ft. I have some spots that may be 7 ft bc the ground is uneven but will prob add another strand or two before next spring. Hopefully the deer hunter will get a few.

Thanks Carol. CM color range varies all the time. Sometimes it's orange, sometimes apricot and sometimes peachy colored. I love it!! Judy
