Separate sheets and blankets for each bed, then cover with one large king that can be removed at night

I have a split king adjustable bed. Mine is a California King, which requires s special size fitted sheet. You're lucky that an extra long twin fits. Anyway, on our bed each mattress has a fitted sheet and we have one King top sheet. We use a king sized comforter. Is there any particular reason each side needs its own covering?

We have had that bed for 8 years. We use twin extra long fitted sheets and a king top sheet with custom coverlet. If we made the beds separately, I wouldn't feel as if I was sleeping in the same bed with my husband. My husband is always hotter than I am, so he flips back the coverlet. I usually add a lightweight throw on my side. In winter, we might add a down blanket - king.

We have a new split king adjustable. Does anyone have suggestions for bedskirts? I have a new comforter I love, but it's too short without a bedskirt. Regular twins won't work with the foot bars and seems they would bunch up when you adjust the bed.

I made 2 two sided skirts. I tried adapting off the shelf skirts but they never looked great. The chrome bar at the foot of the bed can be easily removed to install the skirt (a small slit is required in the skirt to slip the bolt through) and then reattached. In making the skirt, I omitted the traditional deck top and used a four inch wide band, which I gently whip stitched to the foundation. I used inset pleats at each bend point on the side, plus at the corner. A half pleat is at the center where the beds meet thus disguising that each bed is skirted separately. I made the skirts from a beautiful, heavy drapery linen and lined them. Someone who makes slip covers could easily tackle this for you. Even when each side of the bed is raised or lowered, the skirt follows perfectly!
