An olive green is going to look sickly on the walls. Does the kitchen have any natural light? My suggestion would be a light gray to work with the tile flooring.

In my kitchen (i am also renting) to make the cabinets a little better looking, i got contact paper at lowes, cut it and applied to the cabinet faces, looks pretty cool with the pattern (you could do something with a green accent? and put it in the cathedral portions?) and modernizes a bit. I would paint the walls a beige or off white!

With so many different colors and finishes going on I would stick with a neutral white or off white and add color with a nice rug on the floor to mask that floor tile a bit and some nice countertop accessories. Maybe ask the landlord if you can install cabinet hardware to add some interest to those cabinets. A nice utensil or small pot rack on the wall behind the stove will add industrial appeal and then maybe a small collection of pottery or baskets placed in the corner of the soffitt...no fake plants, please! Interesting accessories will keep the eye from noticing the countertop, flooring and cabinetry. Have fun!

Your mention of 'brown beige' - is that the color of the tiles? That color might be good.

You have a beige floor with pink undertones. The counters are green. I would try a light gray green which will read as a neutral. This will compliment your floors and bring out the best in your countertops.

i would paint it white the whole kitchen, is the only way the countertop will stand out and the cabinets match...maybe then add black frames to cut the white.
