Having the same problem finding a vanity stool for my counter height vanity which has a drawer bringing the height for the stool down by 4 inches. Need a chair about 20-21" and it's impossible!

Did you get this on Wayfair by chance? I am having the same issue. I bought the Susan dining table and it clearly says the table height is 30.25 inchs however when I received it and put it together it was about 3 inches higher. I'm guessing it is the casters which I don't think are removable. Not that I would want to remove them anyway, they are one of the reasons I liked the table! The friend that helped me put it together suggested shortening it from the top of the legs (each leg is "attached" separately by just a bolt tightened against it). Makes me a little nervous. It could end up being an expensive mistake!

You might be right about the rectangular one. The pipes across each end don't seem conducive to seating. Mine is definitely not meant to be an island. I think if I can find chairs with a seat height between 21 and 24 inches, I'll be fine. It just limits my choices significantly. :(

I have a 100+ year old round oak table w 2 leaves (picked up at a flea market in the 1960's) that needs chairs at 19". (It's also on casters that I am NOT removing.) I know, I know 18" is only 1" less, BUT it is a big difference in how it feels. The only chair that fits is one that I bought when we lived in Italy. Maybe European dining tables/chairs are a tiny bit higher than American?

Has anyone been successful in finding 20" chairs? I bought a reclaimed wood table and the legs are from a 100 year old pool table. The height of the table is 33". I'm finding it impossible to find chairs.

I'm having a similar issue, I have converted a workbench (standing height table) to a craft bench for my wife. She wants to be able to sit at it, but normal chairs are too low, and drafting chairs are too high, surely someone would manufacture mid range chairs.

I am having the same issue. We have pool table with a cover so that it can be used as a dining table. The problem is that it is taller than a typical dining table and the chairs need to be 20 -22 inches. The 24 inch counter stools are too high.

I ordered the chairs below from Target- they come in a set of 2 or 4. The Target website states the floor to seat height is 20 inches. There was another option that I considered pasted below, but I really did not want fabric since I have kids and they will get them dirty. I hope that they are a decent quality and that the height stated on the website is correct.

Anyone have any new suggestions for this issue? My table is 33", not adjustable or able to be lowered. I ordered some really cool industrial stools that can lower to 22" but think people will prefer having a back while dining. Considered getting some bar height
chairs and cutting the legs off possibly, has anyone done this?

Have you tried an At Home store? They have online as well. As for the comment above yours about high tables. That is what many are wanting so not sure who your speaking for. We built a new house with a high large over hang bar instead of having a " dining" table since most activities happen about the kitchen. Now just trying to find a half dozen stools we like

Landed here looking for a high seat chair for my elderly mother, as well. There are several manufacturers in the UK who provide these chairs for the elderly but cannot ship to the US due to the materials used (they do not meet US fire standards).

As someone else commented, it's astonishing that some company in the US hasn't yet seen the trend and started producing chairs with a 21 - 23 inch seat height, arms that can be used for leverage when standing. Counter stools are too unstable for an elderly person to repurpose as a living room chair and the current "lift" chairs on the market aren't a solution for someone who wants something more attractive and traditional.

Hope someone begins to address this growing need.

Anyone find any chairs? My table is 32 1/2 inches. It is also custom made, slab, live edge, 12 foot long. I love it, but the chairs I ordered look like kids chairs! So, I'm back to looking for chairs!

Same issue. Some how found these chairs 20.5" seat. Almost out of stock so had to buy chairs from multiple sites.. Works great for 30" table as we are a short family. Still on the search for another set for other 30" table..

Interesting discussion. We have been looking for taller chairs as well but something more modern. We are all 6’ and taller and a standard chair makes us feel oversized, does not hit our knees right.

Would you consider replacing the casters with flat leg tips? That could lower the table top a bit. There are many pipe fittings available and maybe there is a flat end piece that would work. I would affix stick-on felt leg-tip pads to protect the floor.

I am also looking for a chair that is around 21” so I’m following this thread. Our table is 31 7/8”. There are sliders on the bottom that could lower it by about that 7/8” but otherwise will not be altered because It was custom built by my dad.

I am also looking for 20”-21” chairs for a table 31” in height and a bench seating for one side.

Yes, this is a super later comment. But after extensive searches I finally found a 20 inch floor to seat high upholstered dining chair, which I needed to work with my corner nook built-in that was made too tall. Had to add height to table to match the nook. Then had to find tall chairs. Such a pain.Sharing, in case someone else can be spared the headache!

Found these chairs at ikea. My son made me a dining room takle in Woods class this year but it ended up being 32 3/4" tall. Found this page as I have been searching for taller chairs.. Someone earlier suggested Ikea and that's where I found these. it says the seat height is 20 1/2" . Arm height is inccorect on the graphic on ikeas page. 60 cm = 23.62" not 37 3/4" that it shows on the graphic. I know this started a long time ago, but it is still very hard to find anything with a 20-23 inch seat height. I am looking for a decent looking chair for my new vanity which has a drawer that is 29 inches from the floor. How can there not be any options?! I feel like I have checked everywhere!
