I like the white walls, and I think--just to soften the windows--I'd put up white panels. I'm thinking a heavy-ish, well-made linen. The furnishings, accessories, art, and other details looks so fab already. They just need quiet support--nothing competing with them.

If you can't move the couch out from under the window to accommodate panels, then go for a nice roman shade -- maybe in the color of the couch.

Your windows and doors are works of art in themselves. Given the constraints, I'd hang romans above the windows - individually on each element but I vote for softness but no color on this - so a creamy white heavy lined linen is best here - so when open they just brush top of window, and when closed they are seamless with the wall - you have enough going on with the architecture and ceiling and accessories that you don't need more. Just select a high quality fabric so it feels warm when they are down. Looks like you don't need them for privacy, so leave the french doors unadorned.

What a lovely room! I'm a big fan of color and this room can pull it off. I'd go with dark turquoise walls.

Really looks lovely - I like the idea of some softness with white drapes. As for the built - ins, actually I like what you have now. If you do built - ins I think I'd have them fairly unobtrusive, lower and perhaps with open backs so you keep the lightness there.

What a gorgeous home! I adore those floor tiles! And the window/door frames! And the brick vaulted ceilings! And the arched doorways! I love it all! I agree with everyone else on the white linen soft shades and with mounting them above the window frame. Depending on the width of the overall window you might be able to get away with one large shade. That would be my first choice. Keep it simple. I also agree with Jeffery Brooks about adding a few white pillows to the couch to tie it all together.

Yes... I live in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. The houses are a block apart. I needed to move to a one story house for medical reasons... and my new one became available.. I got lucky...

Here is a before and after of the kitchen and bedroom... Need ideas in the bedroom also.... and I need money!!:-)

Hi Victoria! I agree with what many others have said about White lines Romans ....white cushions. I love the hints of blue you have in the room so if you feel you have to change the white go to a soft blue to neutralize some of the oranges.. Do you have any ceiling lighting? Hard to see in the picture! Lovely home! Pauline

TV unit/fireplace....I would love to see it with closed shelves on the bottom and paint it all including fireplace in black just to add some balance and drama to the room.
