Links to November blooms from previous years:

I think starting a new discussion defeats the purpose of documenting which plants bloom in a particular month, over the years, but there are some broken pics that were linked from being uploaded elsewhere.

My gardenia surprised me this morning ( Isn't it rare for gardenias to bloom in Nov.?)and my wild hibiscus never disappoints with new flowers daily …all winter long!

Escolat, what is the name of your hibiscus? it is beautiful, id love one that flowers all winter!

Thank you for the compliment. I was told that the hibiscus is wild from Puerto Rico. I purchased it at least 30 years ago during college from a professor who collected plants. It is very strong, fast growing and resistant to pests!!! I chop it back twice a year. It grows and roots like a weed. I have never seen another hibiscus like it so I suppose it is wild. It is so uplifting to have dependable exotic blooms all fall and winter in Ohio. I wish someone could identify exactly what variety it is.

Even though it is outside, I am so thrilled with my New Dawn Climbing Roses' late season bloom! Now I truly understand why this rose is so highly rated for it's performance…It is Nov. 15 in the North and I am still enjoying flowers! The rose has been planted for just 2 years. The pale pink blooms are stunning to behold at dawn and dusk.

My lipstick finally has some buds! There's about 8 I've counted probably won't open until December. Excited as this is technically my first flowering plant to flower! Spiders, COT and haworthia dont count!

indeed it is. on the first page of google image results for oxalis palmifrons is an image from this page: http://mie0123.blog44.fc2.com/blog-entry-1467.html

The exact same image above, in fact - dated December 2011.

Back on track, almost - not quite a house plant. This must have seeded over summer - the same viola was growing (and produced many seed pods) about 10 feet away and 6 feet higher (in a box hanging on a railing) than the pot I found this in a week or two ago.

Sign of spring :) They are quite tough little plants and very colorful.

An actual houseplant, inside the house, one that I've never had bloom before. Also one of my few plants that I've given a name, partly because she's so feisty - always waving her arms up and down, I think she's trying to fly away ;)

    Meet Miranda.

This is funny, noticed one of my spider plants (thats in with my Scheff) babies had a flower stalk and was blooming. I wonder if the baby forming on the end will also grow a flower stalk and create an endless chain.

Not nearly as heavily in bloom as it was over the summer but still ....

    Streptocarpus saxorum

And like so many folks this time of year

And perhaps not like so many folks

My "Thanksgiving Cactus" has bloomed more and more profusely for about the last 11 years, even having up to 3 flowers on a single leaf tip. Last year, not quite November, (10/29) but close enough.

This year however, not a single bud.:-(

escolat, I use to travel to Puerto Rico 3 times a year for business and I saw that Hibiscus growing on abandon property climbing up the top of the trees like our kudzu weed. Sorry I cannot help you with a name because when I asked them for a name they would say weed. So you are right it probably was from PR. I kept saying I was going to get a piece and bring it home but I never remembered.
