2 story family room window treatments

I have a 2 story family room and can't decide on a new window treatment. I have 4 single windows on wall with fireplace and 4 double windows on the other walls. I think I want floor to ceiling panels, but prefer not to have them hang along the fireplace. Do you have a suggestion for the long panels or a new type of top treatment? Attached is a picyure of half the room, same on the other side

This takes a lot of material, but is very easy sewing. I think they would look nice next to the fireplace.

There's really no room for long panels and they'd look too stringy if you tried that. I would recommend California shutters in this case, and maybe putting some artwork in the space between the windows to distract from the windows themselves.

I like this also. The molding around the bottom windows is very substantial, and the upper windows are left as is:

You could ask for a quote to build up your window molding.
