I haven't had any luck getting them to ripen in the house. We still have perhaps 30 figs on two plants. I don't think they are going to make it as some of the leaves are already dropping from cool nights even though it hasn't frosted here yet. We plan to cover the plants with tarps the first couple frosty nights in hopes of getting a few more figs.

This year I had the most figs ever. Even if only a few at the time. I wish, they were all ripe now.

Here at my house, plants get an option of live, or die... I don't coddle them at all. Guess, I have to wait till next year, to get ripe ones again. Thanks.

My experience is they just dry up and shrivel up.

I hear that you can bag them while still on the plant to ripen, birds get mine so can't try this year.

yeah, but it is going to be pretty cold the next couple of nights.. and they prolly die off for the season.
