Love seat or club chairs?

I'm trying to decide if we should go with a love seat or club chairs to pair with this couch (note we also need new lamps, but that's a different topic). We hang out in this room every evening and our kids play here as well. We'd love to both be able to lay down, but I've heard you should usually buy a love seat to match the couch. Could we get away with an upholstered couch or is that a no go? Please help.

Club Chairs & drapery panels in an oatmeal color. I would tone down the walls to a sage color.

Club chairs for sure a sofa and 2 chairs are always a good choice some larger lamps and some window coverings would be good and the wall color doesn’t seem good to me in such a small space. is it a color from the rug it’s hard to tell but if not it has no connection to the room IMO.

The color on the walls matches the rug. It was just painted, so we won't be toning it down right now. We like the bold color and it is in the rug so I think we're ok. I like the suggestion of the window treatments. Thanks!!

I really like your paint color- I think the reflection in the first photo posted ( and hence the 2nd in your recent post)make it appear a brighter green than it is.

Yes Diane - I agree the first image didn't do the color service. It's Land of Liberty from Benjamin Moore. It is closer to Sage.

Also, what style club chairs should we look for? I like more traditional manufacturers like baker, henrendon, hickory, etc, but I'm worried that they will be too formal. Or that they will have too high backs and will cut off the other part of the room. The room is essentially a square with a hexagon attached and creates two natural seating areas.

Have you tried home reserve? I have heard great things about their longevity. they are certainly inexpensive, american and seem fairly green. the cool thing is that all pieces have updateable arms and they can do reupholstery as needed, finally they are supposed to be child friendly.
