New Seedlings: Diamond Queen & Diamond King

These where started Oct 19, 2015. Arabicums of Dino's.

Sowed 12 seeds of each. 12 seeds germinted within 3-5days.

Now just 2 wks. of age.

Will be interesting to see how they progress.

Just an update on my Diamond King & Diamond Queen Arabicum hybrids from Dino.

They are approximately 4 mths. of age to date.

The Photo in background is one of Laura's "Penang Peach" Frangipani that she sent to me. Thanks so much Laura. You know how much these blooms just melt me. Forunately you pool was not in the background. This would have been too much :)

They look a nice size for just 2 weeks :-) so if I want seed from this guy I have to buy a tree or two.....or three (ahem, coughs).

Phil, I understand from Jericson that this is the process to get seeds. I do not know as I received trees from him and it was never a question.

Maybe I should contact Dino via my wife's Facebook page to get an idea of prices inc shipping or do I contact him via another route? Shall I message JP?

Phil, Jericson did comment about him releasing seed to those getting his trees, but what would it hurt sending him a message via FB.

Really nice looking seedlings, Rick. Now I wish I would have bought some of the Kings and Queens too. I sowed a tray of the Thai Soco's I bought from Dino and had good germination rates across most of the varieties. Sowed several more today. Looking forward to seeing the progress on these.

Came back to look at these again. Are you sure they aren't 2 months old?! LOL. They are going to be ginormous Rick. Love the color of them too.

The seed would have been in Thailand still, Tracy :) LOL. I hope that they do turn out big. I do not usually start to much going into winter anymore for the reason of having to keep them growing. I have them under my lights now and will start the rest in spring. They usually take off in the spring.

Still sitting on the fence about getting a LED. Not because I think they are not good. I think the fence is teetering, quite a bit. As long as you people keep this LED thing up. I think it will need steel posts to hold me up :)

What's keeping you from setting up an LED-lit growing area, rick?

You absolutely do not need a tent to grow with an LED Rick. You keep the room temps up high normally, so you really don't have any temperature control concerns. When I had mine in my laundry room I realized there was no central heating vent in there so temps were dropping too much at night time.

Christmas will be here in 6 weeks :) Make sure you order in at least 2 weeks advance because holidays do cause extra turnaround time, FYI. JIK.

Hi Rick, they have really grown nicely since Oct 15. May I know how tall they are now?approx. Mine stopped growing and went dormant and are about 2 inches tall but not as fat. Hoping for some recovery now that spring is here and temps are up.Do you fertilize them?How often?
