Not at all :) amaryllis need a dormancy period to flower. The leaves die back to the bulb for a month or two, then the scape (flower stalk) comes out. Your bulb may be preparing for dormancy on its own, hence why the leaves are dying back. Gradually stop watering it as the leaves go, then let it rest in a cool, dark place (about 55 to 60 degrees) for a month and a half to let the flowers develop. If it doesn't bloom after that it may need a longer dormancy (too short a rest only gives leaves) or it may not be mature enough to flower yet. Just be patient. These are worth it :)

Oh yeah, don't water it during that month and a half. After that time (or if you start to see a bud poking out of the bulb), put it in a warm spot and give it a good drenching. Don't water it again until you see new growth or it might rot. Water is the controlling factor as to when it comes in and out of dormancy.
