I love the look - haven't seen it before.

They could be very nice looking. "fingerprint resistant" Hmmm. Do they pass the fingerprint test? No matter how nice you don't want to buy something you need to be polishing all the time.

In person, that black stainless is beautiful. I would like to get it, but I'm worried that it would more quickly date a kitchen than normal stainless would.

Another line that has a nice finish is the Frigidaire smudgeproof stainless. They are a bit darker than regular stainless but not too dark. They seem to have better resistance to fingerprints, based on what we saw at the stores we visited.

It looks black to me. When we looked at houses, black was the least liked color for appliances. I preferred stainless, could live with white, hated black. But who knows? It may be the new thing. I really wish the red and other colors became the new thing, but this is what we have before us.

Thanks for all the comments. We are now going back and forth on black stainless vs "regular" stainless steal. We are worried about the black SS with finger prints and if it will date our kitchen in 10 years.

Also because this is a new line and each brand's black SS is different it is really limiting our flexibility to get the appliances and features we are looking for.

At the end of the day I think we will end with with regular SS

Anything will date a kitchen in 10 years. Buy what you like but also realize the best appliances may not be all from the same company. I know for me functionality of the appliance is more important than them all looking exactly the same.
