Oil rubbed bronze is NOT past any due date! I see a lot of brushed nickel and oil rubbed bronze as a go to fixture finish. Actually, ORB is the finish that seems to have the most lighting options in the market right now. Here are a couple pictures of fixtures. To give you another idea, I've done a house with white cabinets and ORB hardware and light fixtures and it was a beautiful contrast. Also, bronze has so many variations within itself, as you will see in the pictures as well.
