sheila, makes sure you leave a post right after the spammer, saying it is spam, so that others who aren't paying attention to the date, don't start responding to the dead thread and keep it on "life support'!!

I logged on last night just after he spammed a bunch of old threads and I reported them all. GW, bless them, removed all of his posts except one on centerpieces. I re- reported that one, so if others would, too, maybe they'll take it down. And if anyone used his name in their shaming posts, I think you should go out and edit out his name from your post, so there is NO reward for spamming, including name recognition.

Oly, you might be careful about posting "spam reported" on the thread. When the spam goes away, your comment remains, and is then out of context. Just report the spam.

Or one could identify the spam post, as in Spam reported for post following so and so's. Another reason it would be nice if the post time were listed as on old GW rather than one hour ago, etc., as one could say Spam posted on the 12:15 PM post.

I only write it so people won't accidentally click on a spam link, or continue to comment on a 9 year old thread. If I think of it, maybe i'll go back and add a comment that the spam above was removed?

ETA: i just discovered I can totally remove my "spam reported" posts, so i'll just do that if I can find them, once the spam is removed.
