What about Farrow and Ball 'French Gray' No. 18? It would look great with the strong yellow in the adjacent room too!

Considering your taste in warm colors a warm red would look great in that space. Perhaps even a wallpaper.

It's very fun and brightens the kitchen, but not really in keeping with my understated aesthetic taste. Thanks for the idea.

Farrow & Ball French Gray No. 18 is a great choice!

We tried it and it looks like a muddy green in our kitchen.

For some Grays with a brown tone, I have Benjamin Moore Thunder and Tyler Gray in my home.

Here are a few possibilities: Argos SW 7065, Silver Strand SW 7057, Gray clouds SW 7658, Silverplate SW 7649.

Hi Jackie! Try Sherwin-Williams #7531 Canvas Tan. It's the perfect greige and will add warmth and sophistication to your kitchen. In fact, below is a photo of a kitchen I recently painted that color and my clients absolutely love it!

Great suggestion, Wendi. I went right out to buy a sample and we love it! I need to see it in morning light but I'm certain this has solved my problem. Here is our newly painted kitchen. We love the color! At one end it looks grey and at the other it looks a little tan depending on the time of day. It's just what I wanted in a more sophisticated look. I think it brightened and updated the kitchen.

might have also used SW7532 Urban Putty which is one step darker but we thought it might be too dark. I see the new trend is painting window frames black or dark grey to match the cabinets. I thought about doing that but will it look strange with just the window frames black and the doors and moldings white? Any comments on this?

Hi Jackie. I knew you would love that color! Thank you for posting after photos. It turned out beautifully! Given that one of your goals with the new wall color was to brighten up the room, I would leave the window frames white as opposed to painting them a darker color.
