Any advice on how to finish this fireplace? My home was built in 1972 and we purchased 3 years ago. The fireplace was flat against the wall and now built out with regular fire rated drywall and metal studs. I would like to update this space to be more modern, a bit glam, yet transitional; if there is a such thing. I really like the diagonal wood walls. i this its a unique feature. However, I am willing to paint it or cover it but no option to tear it down. The surrounding walls are stucco and white. The beams are some foam beams applied to the ceiling. I am looking for help with how to finish the fireplace, what colors to finish with and how to decorate the space. I plan to use this room as my office/sitting/entertaining room. What would be ideal for this fireplace? By the way, excuse the clutter.
