Thanks Judi. That’s my favorite too. Do you think it would look okay with one on each end of the sofa? That wall already looks visually “heavy” to me and I’m just not sure if those would help or hinder.

From the photo it doesn't look as if you have room for end tables. I think I would do a floor lamp instead. How about a couple of vintage suitcases under the coffee table? . If it's just the angle of the photo and you do have room I prefer the top one. Agree that Joanna Gaines would be proud of you!

I don't think there is room for two and I really like the top one for your living room and I would add two white suede pillows on your couch, to help pull the whites in room together. A floor lamp near your leather chair would be nice and when considering a coffee table, I think a large square two level industrial with legs that compliment side table would work well and since this is where you will be watching tv, it's convenient to have a sturdy/large table that you can put you feet up and have place snacks. Add some lovely coffee table books to the second shelf for a nice look as well.

I do have room for two end tables as long as they are no wider that 20” each, but yes, one side could have a floor lamp. Maureen, I like the idea of a square coffee table, but think it would have to have a glass top like Linlac suggested (and a round one might work also) I think the room is already bordering on brown overload. I like the idea of industrial legs.

Lila, are you suggesting a couple suitcases under a glass top coffee table? That sounds interesting!

Just something to consider, glass is not as practical/hard to keep clean and can't put your feet up. If this was a less used room glass would be lovely I think. Once you add accessories on a table, you won't feel the overload of wood perhaps. Hope this helps.

Whatever you get for end/side tables, they should come to within 1" of the seat arm height and when you add a lamp, the two should reach 58-64" above the floor. Coffee table should be no longer than 2/3 of the width between the sofa's arms. Get your proportions right on paper before you start shopping. I might consider reclaimed wood for the coffee table.

Thanks decoenthusiaste. It’s going to be tough finding 29” high by 20” wide side tables, but think an inch or two lower might be okay. A reclaimed wood table would look nice if it were light enough.

Theresa, the shape of your current coffee table seems perfect to me. Maybe you could paint it with chalk paint if you aren't happy with it. I've even seen tables done in blackboard paint. And yes, I was thinking about a suitcase under the table, either vintage or a replica similar to the end tables you posted. It could be painted white.Can't wait to see what you do.

Thanks Lila. I do like the bench coffee tables. This one in the pic belongs to the dining table though….and it is a bit too long. I’ve seen some light colored ones with black metal legs that might work. There is still quite a bit of space if I go that route, so was thinking of a pouf and a couple pillows to bring in a bit of color. But I’m still stuck on side tables :)
