Help! I'm desperate need of decorating/furniture placement advice.
Comments (29)Hello there:) I really dig your sofa! I noticed your mirror on the mantel and I was thinking that perhaps rather than have it lean so that the mirror tilts upward towards the ceiling you might hang it so that the bottom of the mirror is 6" to 8" inches from the mantle. However, when you do, have it hung like a painting whereby there is a wire in the back stretching from one end to the other. And when you hang it, have the upper part of the mirror tilt forward at a slight angle approximately five degrees. In essence it would be tilting towards the floor rather than the ceiling. This is akin to the way mirrors and photos were hung early in the previous century. Your furniture has that early flavor but with the contemporary cozy comfiness of today. I hope all comes together well for you! Regards, Anthony...See MoreDesperately Seeking Advice For Poor Guest Room/Home Office
Comments (4)Is not so poor quest room. Post soviet cantries build all new flats this size, and without questroom. 1. If you need save bed and computer in one room MUST TO DIVIDE! Near window must create sleeping area, (calm) near door comuter area! (active bussines comunications.) Double problem - bussines in bed, and sleeping quality too much active business activities. Use weardobe for divide room also. back side covered with nice picture or color. 2. YOUR AND HUSBAND BED not need be arrangable!! (for save harmony in relation ship in family and outside) 3.Not use blue curtains in sleeping area, (not gud color for sleeping) Is apsolutly bussines color meening. 4.Background for bed use high if possible in all woll (for close half from window)[https://www.houzz.com/photos/burt-residence-eclectic-bedroom-miami-phvw-vp~2740317[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/burt-residence-eclectic-bedroom-miami-phvw-vp~2740317), here nice bed wery gud price [https://www.houzz.com/products/gray-linen-fabric-upholstered-platform-bed-with-wooden-slats-queen-prvw-vr~55309276[(https://www.houzz.com/products/gray-linen-fabric-upholstered-platform-bed-with-wooden-slats-queen-prvw-vr~55309276) 5.In area for computer must be arranged bright lighting. becouse this will be in shadow from weadrobe. Comments (2)Get art for above sofa from local art gallery, or art.com. If art.com, just get the print at art.com, then get frame on sale locally at Michaels craft store, AC Moore, or Target. Make sure print is a standard size. Look for frame online at above stores first to be sure you have the right size frame. Under window get a narrow table - measure twice - buy once! Get one on high legs due to the heating unit under it. Replace blue drawers left of sofa with a very tall storage unit for toys, pillows and throws (make sure shelves are adjustable). That being said, consider the negative space theory. Every wall doesn't have to have something on it. Let your eyes rest in-between items on walls. Window treatments will have to be blinds, since the sofa is right under it. Check out Boscovs and Bed Bath and Beyond. JC Penney has a custom dec dept if you have more in the budget for that....See MoreDesperate need of advice on furniture layout and decorating
Comments (2)First off the sectional is way too big for the space. Is the fireplace a plug in? If so, reposition it to between the front windows. The TV is mounted way too high. You definitely need a unit for storage. Perhaps a cabinet where the cubbie storage is now with doors to hide the clutter. Get all miscellaneous stuff off floor and find a place for it. Perhaps an ottoman that opens fir storage. Or two footstools that open for storage. If you can't move the fireplace at least move the TV. Get a console it will fit on and put it on wall across from long side of sofa. Now, once that is done, shop for a large piece of artwork that will go on wall above long side of sofa. Something colorful to brighten up the space. As for windows, i would replace existing shades with white bamboo roman style shades, preferably that fit inside window frames. A rug that is sized to put in front of sectional would make the space feel warmer. Find your artwork first (4' x3' large at least) then pull color from artwork for rug. If replacing sectional is an option i would do a smaller sofa and two small scale chairs. The room is very limited due to windows, doorways etc as i am sure you are aware. Your family must have neck issues trying to watch that TV. MOVE THAT FIRST!...See Moremnjpreciado
