I like the way your cabinets turned out. Will your dishwasher be easy to access where it is now? Lots of work, but SO totally worth it! Looks terrific!

The dishwasher is more functional were it is now because it can be openned to load or ounload and you have access to the sink and all the cabinets. In the old location the cabints were blocked by the dishwasher door and made it hard to reach the uppers.

The hardwood floor had to be reworked after removing the island.

Looks great! I like the counters and the cabinet color really brightens it up. Are you going to swap the bookshelf for something that matches the cabinets?

It its affordable, I'd replace the bookshelf with another cabinet - maybe one with an open bottom shelf for the cookbooks. Love what you're done so far. Love the light fixture.

great job! what is the size of the kitchen - I have the same peninsula close to the dining table which is driving me crazy but don't have enough space for an island - thanks!

Our Kitchen is 12 feet deep from the Dish washer to the corner and about 15 feet wide. I took about a foot out into the dinning area with the island seating side.

I designed the book shelves for this space to match the corbal design under the island bar area which are also stained and varnished. My attempt to keep a touch of wood in the kitchen and dining area. Thanks for your ideas. I was orginally going to put an open cabnet that would match the rest of the cabnets but I am glad that I followed my wifes request and went this way.
