Fascinating!! It does look like a rhizome. Would this be called adventitious? I think so but not sure.

The whole plant is in the second pic. After deviding 3 plants were replanted in the original pot after cleaning pot and using new soil.

Yes, that's a rhizome growing into the air. It does that when it becomes overcrowded. It will turn up and continue growing a new set of leaves. After flowering, that stolen is finished. The leaves will live on but no new growth. So, the plant produces a new rhizome to continue the growth. Almost all new stolens start out as under ground root rhizomes.

Stush you were right ! it is a rhizone that grew out and curled up and now soon 5 months later it about 4" inches tall from the curl up...

Can this rhizone be cut near the mother plant and replanted into another pot?

Yes the rhizome can be cut it that's what you want to do. Make sure you let the cut heal in open air for a few days before planting it and keep from over watering it. Roots need to form before it can take in water.
