What should I do, double growth

I noticed the leaves on one of my sans where splaying out instead of standing upright. I took a closer look and it looks like another plant is growing up out of the center if that makes any sense. There are root nubs half way up and it looks like I could remove that whole section and put it in it's own pot. Is that what I should do or just leave it?

I divided this plant to send half to my mom, it was originally hers. I sent her the normal half. This is how it looked, a lot of the leaves were curling back.

Divided it.

Separated the larger normal plant and peeled the lower leaves off.

Left with these leaves, seems a waste to toss them, most are curled back.

Waiting for the cuts to harden over and I'll repot the two plants I have.

I don't wait long too harden these. Usually just a day or so. Curled leaves COULD be a sign of thirst in Sans. Not sure I'd do anything if it's just leaves I want to encourage into propagation.
