Window treatment dilemma!

My roommate and I live in an apartment that we have tried very hard to make look like an eclectic oasis. Everything looks great except the windows and the terrible "apartment feel" blinds. We need window treatment help! The corner is very awkward leading out to the patio with the sliding glass door. Any recommendations?

I understand your angst about these windows. The way they were built is really unfortunate but this is the way they are. At least the blinds are in good condition and they fit the windows and give you good function. I think the best thing to do is concentrate on the rest of your decor and realize that there are some things that you cannot change. I assume you are renting? Then you are probably not going to stay here forever, and hopefully your next place will be one that will be more aesthetically pleasing to you.

On the other hand, if you have a healthy budget and are allowed to make changes, then you could... no, sorry I've been staring at those windows and I just draw a blank. Maybe someone else has an idea to improve this.

2 or 2.5 inch faux wood white blinds for the windows. Add drapes over the doors, matching on the windows, mounted at the ceiling. You can layer sheers and drapes on the doors. Depending on the need for privacy, the drapes be left open at the sides of the doors.

I would do woven wood roller shades with a wood cornice and a woven panel track system for the slider with matching cornice 5 1/2 would do.

I keep forgetting about the track panels. They are nice and would look good here.

Can you add curtain rods? If so you could cover both walls with low cost curtains. Painters drop cloths from hardware stores can be used, they are quite economical. I did a google image search on "curtains from painters drop cloths" and there are numerous ideas. Here are a few:

first, i love the pup. Second, you would not believe this but i have used walmart, flat bed sheets. You can use the king size pillow cases for any cushions you need covered. I have used as many twins as i needed, they are over 6 feet long, get the really cheap ones, under $5 and even less on sale for season. I checked a couple months ago, and they had a gray a sage and i believe a beige. if you want them to be longer, you can a strip of material at the bottom, use the fabric glue, since you rarely wash. They are not see through but let in the maximum light.
