Just in case anyone else has a missing table leaf with the holidays this week.

I realize this is totally not up to snuff design-wise, but wanted to encourage anyone else in my spot. We have a very sturdy Amish made table (46"x46" square) that we bought years ago at a discount since there was no leaf. With extra company coming, I was stuck for extra seating.

I ran to home depot this morning and bought a 3/4" thick, piece of MDF board. It was 24x48 inches and the nice Home Depot man cut it to 23.5x46 inches for me. It was $12. I use a drill to make holes for the dowels on one side and then to place 3 new dowels on the other side. Viola! A MDF table leaf that is not noticeable under a table cloth.

I feel triumphant!
