Search in the photos for maple cabinets. Any that you like add to an idea book. Then go through the ones that you like and see what they all have in common. Then take the pictures and make your list. It helped me when I redid a bathroom.

Shall we assume the maple is "natural" (no stain)? One of my favourite combos with natural maple = blue or green soap stone. Flooring can then feed off the darker counter top colour in the same colour family.

Another option is CRISP WHITE counters that read more "cold" than "warm" (again, more blue than cream). And then a crisp, cool, light coloured floor can be used to set off the counters.
