Bad granite match

I had granite installed 2 days ago, but he left without finishing the job. It has been a problem from the get go. He did my Mom's granite a few months ago and he did a beautiful job. Anyway, there is one area where he, in my opinion, did not match the granite up as it should be. He said he did the best he could with the granite decks i provided. He is supposed to return today to see how to fix it. Is this a problem with the decks I provided (I was told the decks were from the same "batch and to my uneducated eye they looked similar)or is this the best I should expect? Thx

Just out of curiosity, why do you have that mercury glass vase on the counter with the unfinished backsplash in the photo? It is things like this I am so fascinated by;)

This is really awful. But if there were not two pieces of slab with a similar pattern he may have had no choice. But he should have seen this problem from the get go and told you to get more material that was consistent. Oy vey!

it looks like one end has a finer grain pattern but the slabs were cut from the same rock. turning one of slabs so that the finer grained edges meet in the corner might fix the problem. the edges would need shaping.
if this doesn't work it needs replacing.

Thanks for the feedback. He is coming out to look and see what can be done. Fingers crossed that I don't have to buy more granite but I may have to. As far as the vase goes, I was trying to see if it looked any better imagining all the finishing touches in place to see if it made me like it any better. It didn't! :(
