My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Commerical planting I've not seen before around here....

A bed a Distylium hybrid -- possibly 'Blue Cascade' or Vintage Jade'.
I'm hopeful about its winter survival. I don't consider them bullet-proof
enough here to risk a large commercial planting though. But maybe the
warming asphalt will help. Something like 'Carissa' holly would have been
a safer (albeit spinier) choice.
