Whatever the name , it is a heart type; Ox Heart, Beef Hart ?

I have read that generally heart types are tasty. I grew one dwarf heart type called "Purple Heart". It was about the same size and shape as yours.

It is the one on the lower left of the picture. But it was purple, not red.

Hi Awheeld2, it looks like a heart type - a favorite of many people including myself. Most heart type has very few seeds, is good for fresh eating, paste, and dried. Some hearts have big fruit, sometimes the size vary a lot in the same plant. What is the average size and weight of your fruit? Are they all in the same range? Most hearts I grew have large fruit, you said yours is Roma size, so about 2 inches? Here is Kosovo I grew a few months ago.

Thanks guys...so heart type it is...it looks like it may be just one of those that does not have a name...might have to give it one ;) I'm pretty impressed with how it powered through winter though and against a southern facing wall. I had brandywines in the same spot the year before and they keeled over pretty quickly once the cold weather set in.

Purple tomato varieties have more anti-oxidants but I think red tomatoes are prettier. Maybe it's because we are more used to red tomatoes.
