what is at the bottom and at the right of the above image?

I'm looking at your drawing and trying to figure out the dimensions - is the Kitchen 4.5' + 15' wide?

Is it 4.5' + 9' deep?

Are the windows & walls final? Can they be moved or changed? It is a new build after all... :-)

I think we need a bit more information...what's in the space? A table as well as an island?

Does the island have seating (it looks like it does)?

What are the rooms surrounding the Kitchen?

Where is the family entrance?

Do you have a separate Pantry?

Do you have a layout of the entire first floor?

I'm taking a several guesses since this is how I entertain myself while DH watches TV:-)

Were you planning to put the ovens angled in the corner? IMO, that's a bad idea; you need clear countertop between sink and stove, plus corner ovens wastes space.

In the slim chance my assumption is correct, that 45 means 45 inches. If this is the case, you have 127 inches for the width of your ovens and cooktop. Leaving you with closer to 30 inches and some change on either side of the stove.

Again, this is a stab in the dark...

Ah! 45"! That makes more sense! I see a decimal point b/w the 4 & 5, but maybe it's just a dot/splotch on the layout!

Now that you mention it, Buehl, that might be 4.5 feet. If so, that's even better.

One more observation... Unless it negatively impacts the front elevation I suggest you consider moving the kitchen window. It looks like it is centered on the wall (blue line), but it might look better centered between the upper cabinets on the left and the freezer on the right (the yellow line.) This will get the sink closer to the cooktop and also give you some base cabinet storage between the dishwasher and the freezer.

Sorry for the confusion. Originally the ovens were drawn into the corner. That's a possibility for the pantry now it's 4.5ft x 4.5ft.

I will have a hard time getting the window moved, as it's already framed and the siding is up on the outside.

The 9ft & 15ft is just available counter space with the pantry where it is.

The dimensions of the kitchen are 13.5 x 20

i have even considered adding cabinets & appliances to the wall below the island, I just didn't want it to be awkward to pass through

forgot to mention that the bedroom door has been moved to far left (closer to utility room entrance)

huh. I thought the 4.5 in the corner was another window...

It's hard to tell on the 2nd pic posted... I did find the table (I think) - up (or down on the pic) by the ext wall? that seems far from the actual kitchen. Is that to be the dining room?

we get many, many remodels here with people removing the 'corner' pantry to a better location.

benjesbride - that's a good place for stove / ovens. That's what I thought of on first pic above - but didn't see them there anywhere. That gives a good length of counter top for prepping!

How far off the floor is the window? Many of us here on GW like counter-height windows! I also like to see 6" or more bumpouts as well - both give you a more open Kitchen and more light. If the view is great, that's a bonus!

We also like to see wider windows - 5' to 6' or more have the same affect - more light, more spaciousness.

To me, it would be worth making the change, but YMMV.
