I bought many seed varieties from tomatofest last year. I was thrilled to find them. I was looking for many russian varieties and "cold weather" tomatoes as recommended by SF gate.

Their selection seemed enormous, and I planted everything I bought from them. But all their seedlings struggled, while other from sustainable seed co., Baker creek and Johnny's thrived. However, I've suddenly stumbled upon some reviews that described issues similar to those I had this season…. reported heavy producers not producing at all, strong plants that came up week, varieties not appearing as described, potato leaf plants instead of regular leaf plants, etc. I myself planted cosmonaut volkov from both Baker Creek and Tomatofest. The Baker Creek produced early and beautifully and was a smooth tomato, the Tomatofest was fluted, late and sickly. My Azoychkas, Caspian Pink and Anna Russian were similarly weak. Everything from Tomatofest was poor. The Anna Russian did not even come up heart shaped.

This year I want to try Paul Robeson, Siletz, Legend and Oregon Spring and give the Azoychka and Anna Russian another try. I placed a late order with Tomatofest before reading those reviews. Now I see these same varieties at Victory Seeds and am wondering if I should just donate my tomatofest seeds and order from Victory.

Any suggestions?
