Calling All Lamp Shade Extraordinaires

Howdy - Thinking I need to change out my lampshades for a bit of wow color. I can have them recovered or replaced. Everything in the room stays so I am limited to giving this guest room some wow with its lamp shades, painting the ceiling, replacing the throw and chair pillow or all of the above. My main question is what color would you feature on the lamp shades? Gold family or ????? Whadda think?

I think the room looks beautiful as is. Personally, I would not change the shades. I don't actually like the light that gets transmitted from colored shades. I find it distracting.

Hmmmmm... This furniture, lamps, drapery is a combination from several rooms from our previous home. I have tried to make it work but in hindsight should have started from scratch. The bedding quilt and duvet is new to try to pull it together. What I am feeling is the lamp wall needs a punch of something. Maybe I do need new lamps but these are a favorite. Any thoughts on banding the top and bottom of the shade in a different color? Or painting the ceiling for interest? Or changing the throw and pillow to another color? Or a combination of all? How would you pull this room together? Really appreciate your help - thank you again.

I would look for a 6 inch longer shade, the post to the lamp looks a little long to me and I would get a soft orange color for the shade like your pillows
