My Mom is in her early 80's and is starting to wanting me around more. I live 100 miles away and just lost my husband in June. I love living in the country on a 50 Acre piece of land with a great home, but it is becoming a lot of work for me. No Noise, neighbors and it is beautiful to look out all my windows. But because I live in a small community and I am 66 I am thinking of moving back to town and building a home for both of us. My question is what would be better for resale. Choice 1 building a home with a large mother inlay suite on one side with a kitchenette and with a bedroom sitting area and eating area with a separate garage and private entrance and a lockable door to adjoin the main house. When she no longer live there I could rent out the space. Or choice 2 would be to build a duplex with her side smaller than mine.

I know I have to check zoning and all that but what would have better real???? Thanks
