Buehl...help please

I want to relocate my 2 tall pantries and install the Electrolux all fridge/freezer in the existing space. can you please help me. I have 79" space from wall to wall.

The trim kit I want to use is TRIMKITSS2 which calls for cutout dimensions of 75" height 66" width cutout and the actual trim kit dimension of 75.25" And 67 1/8" width. I have regular 8 ft ceilings and the trim that is existing which also matches the rest of the kitchen is 6" (the current pantries are 90" tall). Any suggestions how I can make his work and what I should put above the actual fridge units. I can match the existing kitchen. I want to know ahead of time before I go to order and have a definite plan for the contractor. The avtual unit is 32" wide and the model is Electrolux EI32AR80QS

i am asking you because you are always so helpful and I just read another post where you talk about using 6" pull outs between the wall and panels.

L_W_O -- My recent renovation experience leads me to disagree with the concept of hiring the "experts" and stepping aside. My kitchen would be quite different if I went the route you are advising. And, I am pretty sure, more expensive and not as well planned (despite the few bumps due to my inexperience along the way.)

Gl rikerk. It sounds like maybe you don't need/want a KD. Just a few ideas and a RTA order. Have fun.

If you want to match what's there, you have to order from the same cabinet company. If you don't have the table saw and contour gauge and the skill to use them, or don't even want to DIY, then hire the best cabinet installer that you can find. The first thing they'll check is square and plumb because it won't be. That site measurement will impact the size of solid stock that you will need to create the surround. Its not hard. Just fussy and exacting.

I went and met with the kitchen designer and her suggestion was to build it in with drywall. That is not what I was thinking. The contractor that did my original installation is currently working on my bathroom and will have no issues moving the current pantries and installing the uppers cabinets and fillers to make this work. I was thinking that I could use a tall 6" filler pullout on each side between the wall and the .75 inch panel. And then either have 2 cabinets above the fridge/freezer or possibly just an open shelf with an arch valance. I have seen others do something similar. You don't think that would work? Obviously if I am planning it myself I would have to take the blame. mY cabinets are diamond

You will need fully custom cabinets with the height involved over the fridge. Diamond doesn't do custom height. A long skinny 12" high with horizontal filler or almost 15" high cabinet isn't going to look very good as an open cabinet. You need taller ceilings to pull that look off. Filler pullouts need cabinets on both sides. Because of that square and plumb issue, as well as the attachment points needed. Or, at least a 3/4" side panel, with a skosh of a filler to be perfectly plumb. Which takes away from the available width by at least another 2". And full height filler pullouts are some of the most expensive square footage you can ever buy. You most likely would not be able to save the crown and reuse it, so that's 2 more sticks of each layer, plus the install.

The KD suggested the cheap solution. Probably because you're buying the cheaper refrigeration solution than the Subzero and she figured that paying more for the cabinetry and install than the units themselves probably wasn't an option.

If your installer is on site, ask him for his suggestion. It'll probably be the cheap solution as well.
