Tv and sunny room

I want to get dh a 50"-60" tv for Christmas - but don't know what will be best.

it will be in a south facing room with a lot of sun. I read that led tvs are our best bet - is this true? And the sales person said that Sharp and Samsung are brighter and will have better output/brightness - is this true?

Would like to hear from users who have tvs that are in sunny rooms with the sun coming in from the wall next to the tv.

Personally I'm a big fan of Samsung, they have been great. I have installed a few Sharps because I needed a particular size. Both look great and have a "dynamic" setting that can be used to fight the effects of a bright room.

Plasma TVs have a very glassy surface. Check them out at a store. The screen will give back a lot of reflection.

No the "Dynamic" setting is just one of the picture modes on all the nicer Samsung TV's. It comes standard with options like "normal" "cinema" etc.
