Im framing in a fire place but instead of positioning the beams in a perpendicular way to the wall, I want to know if you can do it parallel. I want to minimize the amount that the wall comes out. Can anyone give me advice on the best way to do this. Im afraid that if I screw the beam to the wall it will warp in the middle, in turn making it harder to tile over that (hardie backer board will go over the beams before tile).
