Okay thank you!!- is that stark or still a good white?

I agree...Simply White is a nice choice. Definitely not a stark white. I also like Cloud White which is somewhat between White Dove and Simply White.

For the exterior of my house in sunny California, Simply White was too stark. It did not look yellow at all. I think I would use it indoors.

Right after painting my exterior trim Cloud White, I read on some blog that next to blue, green or purple, yellow undertones will come out. She was so right! Next time I will paint BIG pieces of plywood or masonite with samples and look at the space in multiple lighting situations.

I like SuperWhite best, by Benjamin Moore. It is white, without a warm or cool undertone. It is very white but I find it works best in all settings. Good luck!

Thanks for all the suggestions! As far as simply white goes.... From the pictures I have seen it does read stark to me like emmarene mentioned in her post for her exterior of her house- I'm wondering if that wouldn't translate in my kitchen without the natural light. I love all the suggestions though because these are colors I haven't looked up! I've looked at dozens of pictures of White Dove. Which now reads yellow to me. How about Chantilly Lace? Sea Pearl? Frostline? Any experience with those? THANKS
