How do you clean this wood/brick floor?

I would like to do this combo floor with tile and wood in my kitchen and then butt it against the wood floors in the rest of the house.It seems to me that each element needs to be cleaned differently. A steam mop and Bona don't mix well.

The brick floors have a bees wax finish. Both can be cleaned with a damp mop and nothing more.

The wood floors were finished after the brick floors were done.

How are the brick and wood joined? Is it somewhat flexible, like caulk, to allow for differences in expansion/contraction of brick and wood?

We did something similar in our kitchen and our contractor advised using grout to join a porcelain insert with wood lattice. So far so good, but real test will be humid summer air.
