Great idea to put tv cabinets together to make a platform bed! I wish I could find a home built in 1927 in decent shape.

Welcome to Smaller Homes, although I don't post here as much as I used to.

That's a great idea--I think maybe I saw the pic on the KT. I love space-saving storage tips.

We use to do that in the barracks! Gotta have space!

I know your house if beautiful. Would you mind sharing photos of some of the windows?

Very clever. I'd love to see pic's of your windows too!

Great idea about the tv stands.

I hadn't made the connection between AC and fewer windows on new builds. My ~1900, 700 square foot house has 15 windows, all of them now double paned thank goodness.

Welcome, I used to hang out here a lot and I am back to visit. I love ideas that give storage and that use furniture in creative ways - kudos on your hack! I also clamor for pictures, pictures, and pictures. My house was built in 1978. 1675 sq ft and 7 windows. In the whole house. One per room, except for the family room and half bath, which have none. The family room has a patio door.

Moni, one suggestion I have from my experience in having a platform bed made of two sets of drawers similar in design to your two TV stands, if you have not already put a piece of plywood or other platform material between your mattress and the TV stands, you may want to do so. The storage area between the two cabinets will be protected from dust falling down from the mattress (a great source of dust, which is made from our discarded skin cells) and it also helps out the mattress.
