Living room layout

We recently purchased this home and are struggling with positioning our furniture to create a cozy and functional living room. We have yet to purchase any furniture because of struggles over layout design. Here are a few pictures from our listing. Please help

I think I'd prefer to have the TV on the short wall that is to the left of the window when facing the window. Then I'd put a sectional under the window wrapping around where the stereo is now. A single chair, be it a recliner or whatever, could be placed where the TV is now.

That would be different.. But what would you put on the wall that they currently have the couch against?

How many people need to sit and watch TV? Is there a place to eat in kitchen? Do you need DR table to entertain? Is this a condo with shared walls... Just wondering about long term wall removal...

We are looking to seat 4-6 ppl in the living room. It's a bungalow. It's not an eat in kitchen so we need the dining room to eat it. In the future we hope to open it up more, however for now we are trying to make the current layout work best for us.

Id start by buying a long narrow DR table that has chairs that can be pushed under. Two small apartment size sofas- wood legs, skinny arms and an accent chair.

What are the dimensions of the space? Including Dining area. The table and chairs in photo are so crammed into the space, that the whole set will almost have to be moved to seat 6 people. Do you need a table for 6? I would also suggest no sectional. That's all you going to get in the area. A sofa and 2 chairs will be much better. If you have a TV, how big is it and do you have a console for it yet?

The living room is 16ft by 11 ft and the dining room is 13 ft by 8 ft. We havent purchased any furniture or tv yet. For the living room we are not sure where to put a couch or even the tv. We want to change how it is currently setup.

Here are some color combinations for you.

I would agree the sections is too big for the space, a smaller sofa and 2 chairs would be better suited for the space. The rendering above looks great

Be sure to allow room for tables and lamps so that you do not have to use overhead lighting.

That layout looks great!! For the chairs would they all be the same colour / design or could they be different? I want to stay in the grey family- very neutral.

I really like these two design ideas .

They do not have to be all the same color, in fact different is better. At least in pattern. I would keep the same shades like photo #1 you liked. For the chair in the corner you could do an accent color such as blue, orange, yellow> Then tie that color to the rug.

You could do gray sofa, 2 chairs in the pattern and 1 chair in solid. Or you could do all 3 different. I would suggest at least 2 of the chairs the same and the 3rd a solid.

You do not have to use blue. Another color would work also.
